Well, it finally transpired as I'd hoped. I got home last night and found a msg. on my answering machine that someone had found my cat and had her at their house. It was almost 9:30, but I called them anyways and asked if I could come over and get her. When I got there, the guy was standing on his front porch waiting for me. He and his wife had Mooch in a animal crate because they have a couple of dogs. They'd fed her a can of tuna and said they thought she'd been living in their garage for a while. Mooch's eyes were huge, it might have had something to do with the strange environment and dog infused cage. Her cry was hoarse and she was filthy but I scooped her up and hugged her anyways. I told the couple thank you and I think they could tell from my huge smile that they'd done a good deed. I forgot to ask for their names, but at least I remembered to give them effusive thank- yous. Mooch is readjusting to home. She's skinny and weak. It almost made me cry to see her try to hop up on the top of her favorite chair. She really had to scrabble to get up there. She's eaten several times and I made sure she had plenty of clean water. She's been following me around the house and cuddling up to me constantly. Her cry is still weak and hoarse, but her eyes are as bright and clear as ever. I think she'll be fine after she's had regular feed for a couple of weeks.
