Temporarily Disoriented

I had a rainy gloomy trek yesterday and got turned around somehow in the east end of the preserve. If the sun had been at all visible I could have used an imaginary watch face to find my direction. Point the hour hand at the sun and halfway between the hour hand and 12 is south (northern hemisphere -opposite for southern). Kirk taught me that, but it didn't serve me this time. I must have put on a extra couple of mi. making a giant loop on the east end and but was so stubborn I was determined to make the whole hike. My legs were sore before I even made it back to the car.

Those problems are minor compared to what was going on with my eldest last night. His vehicle broke down on I 80 last night. He called my parents and they towed him to an auto repair shop they use. I hope that the problem is only minor and I thank God that he got off the toll road safely. It must have been terrifying in the dark and the rain. It makes me anxious even thinking about it now.
