The second in command spent the morning making travel arrangements online and printing confirmations and maps for his upcoming vacation. Everyone knows that we all spend some time googling off at work, but watching these two is especially galling because of my last performance review. They worked together on assessing my job performance. I was told that I'm competent, do a great job, but that I spend too much time emailing and blogging. As far as I'm concerned, I have 30 min. everyday that I'm entitled to blog, email, read the news online, or do whatever else I wish. I believe it's a matter of federal law.
I've been told by a number of people that I should be grateful to have a job, but my job gratitude after 23 years of public service has become a tad tarnished. I need a little fun in the sun, a long relaxed ride on the bike to a destination with no responsibilities, bills, worries, housecleaning, etc...

Yep, that's right, it's almost time to say F---k it! I'm going camping. I wish this was my bike sitting at the beginning of this twistie in CA.
