Whew!

I could use a day off to recover from my day off!

I was supposed to be down in Indy by 11:00, but I saw a brief shining opportunity to get the yard mowed and it had to be done, before it started raining AGAIN!
Then a two and a half hour drive down to UINDY. It was windy as crap and my tires are barely hanging in there. I have to check the tire pressure each time I drive the Vue. They're the original tires, so I guess I've gotten my money's worth.

Chrish had most of his stuff packed, but the three flights of stairs getting it all lugged downstairs was a workout. Then 2 and a half hour drive home, to unpack all of Chrish's stuff including the wet clothes he packed (why?). He wasn't there helping because he's taking a much deserved week to hang out with friends. I started his laundry and packed my bag to head over to J's. I just happened to call him before I took off and he said he'd see me at my house in an hour. HOLY CRAP! My place was a mess. I went into warp speed housecleaning mode; dishes, bathroom, wash the bedsheets, HURRY! HURRY! I was still vacumning when he got there and hadn't eaten, so I shoved some leftovers down quick. We ended the evening by going to Curly's for a couple of brews and I saw Lisa (Max's widow) there with some friends. She was just the same; loud, exuberant, huge smile, big flirt. We had a couple of Guinness and then inspiration hit! The lilac bushes along Broadway just burst into abundant bloom today, so I suggested a midnight purloining caper. We took a big plastic bag and the clippers and innocently strolled past the cop parked at the intersection, filled the bag full of blooms and snuck out the other end, jaywalked home and had a gorgeous vase full of springtime. The cats loved them too. They loved them so much I had to shut them in the bedroom. Who would have known that cats like to eat lilacs?
