He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Flashing beacon
I'm about ready to glue a flashing beacon to the top of my helmet. I've had three near fatalities this week with 4-wheelers coming over on top of me because they didn't bother to check their mirrors or use their signals before changing lanes. One was a woman who came barreling out of the liquor store with a car full of kids in a fraked up beater car with a cracked windshield and a cell phone glued to the side of her head. I had plenty of time to loudly explain how stupid she was to be on the cell phone with a car full of kids since she was running beside me head on with on-coming traffic on a two lane city street. She definitely deserved to receive a Darwin award. It's not that I'm charging up fast on these drivers. It's not that I'm in their blind spot, I only ride where I can see their mirrors. All three of these drivers changed lanes or came into my lane without looking first or checking their mirrors. I wish my pipes were louder!!!!

I hate stupid people, as I have aforementioned. I promise none were me- I see a biker and am extra careful! I feel my body go into drivers training class mode. Glad you survived!
