He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

And the hits keep on comin'
Dad isn't having surgery. They found another tumor on a MRI that was read the morning the surgery was scheduled. It is larger than the other two and located in the back of the brain. The surgeon, Dr Friedman said it was too far from the site of the original two tumors to remove doing this surgery. He recommended that the surgery be canceled and that we seek alternative treatments offered at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. They set up a consultation appointment for Friday so here we are, all four of us crammed into a one bedroom suite, with lots of time and no car. It's raining, but despite that I had to get out to walk off the incredible tension. If words were knives, the blood would be flowing. My sister, Carol and I haven't slept for the last three days. We have let fly some pretty ugly stuff and enduring these few days with Mom and Dad alternately angry and sobbing has been so hard. The ambiguity and waiting is the worst.

Oh I am so sorry for the distress your family is going through. Don't give up hope though. My aunt had a brain tumor to size of a baseball removed over 20 years ago. Keep pushing for answers and help. Unfortunately some docs need that extra shove to remind them you're human. Be there for each other in love trying to keep the fear from lashing out and redirect the energy to finding answers. I'm going to ask my healer friend to add your family to his prayer list.
Thank you Elena. I've told my Dad every time a friend has added him to a prayer chain. He sends his thanks to. He's receiving his first infusion now.
Elena, I do know how to use the proper form of too, but I can't figure out to edit my comments. My
Grandmother probably rolls in her grave any time I use improper grammar, so I try hard not to do that.
Julie - you, and your family, are in my continued thoughts, as this ordeal moves forward...the tender mercies of God will come through in the support of family - even in stressful times - loved ones, friends - and even the professionals attempting their best.
The measure of a person is not by a monetary value, but by those surrounding them in difficult, or good times.
Just like the ride, it's dangerous, but with mental and physical preparation, tenacity, learned experiences - it's about the ride - and not about the destination.
So, ride safe... you're very special.

Don't worry about it! Huge hugs to your Dad and family. There are those praying for you all. Keep sane!
