The boss is sick and it's Monday!

I know only a couple of reasons why someone would be chronically ill only on Mondays;
       -either you're unable to work an entire week and you need a  part time job or need to consider retiring
        -or you're tying one on every weekend and you're too hungover to make it in to work
         (even if you don't schedule yourself in until noon).

Perhaps I'm overlooking some other possible reasons. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Julie,

I'm going with the tie-one-on theory.

Maybe your boss has and awful case of alcohol poisoning? Or maybe she/he knows that you'll cover for them? So feels free to lie in?
perhaps you are tooo much of a good employee?

Yeah, I don't know. She's sort of a hypochondriac. She actually calls her doctor to remind him that her annual colonoscopy needs to be scheduled. I mean how weird is that? But if she's genuinely ill, why is it almost exclusively Mondays? If it's hypochondria, out of subconscious self preservation wouldn't you think it'd be more uniformly spread through other weekdays?
