He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Buzzzzzzzzzzz
This is the bee hive that I bought at the Indiana State Bee School. It was built by a wonderful young man from Crystal Waters Farm in Greencastle, IN, He's either Amish or Mennonite, and I'm sorry to say I don't remember his name, but he was a very sincere and effective salesman. I was a little intimidated by the crowd of vendors and the other beekeepers who seemed to know the routine, and I watched as he expertly fielded questions left and right. He had a beautiful top bar hive that he'd built with an observation window in the side, but hadn't used one yet for his own beekeeping. I wish I'd gotten a picture with the digital, but I was in stimulation overload. The whole experience is a continual learning curve and I'm in the process of reserving my bees. I was going to buy package bees, and install them in a top bar hive, but quite a few bee keepers discouraged that idea and advised starting with a conventional Langstroth hive and locally grown nucs and then branching out with a top bar hive. The more I read about the bees, the more fascinated I am, and there's always more to learn.
