Everyone is back in their proper place, Chrish is safely back at school, where he's working for the summer and has arranged a way to feed himself. The school is supplying him with lunch and one of his friends said he could come over every night and eat with he and his new wife (hopefully that doesn't cause problems between the newlyweds...hmmmm) J is back home again too. He said he's been happier with me than at any other time in his life, and despite the fact that both of us are living paycheck to paycheck he wants to stick it out. I hope we're able to do that. Meanwhile I'm battling the continuing saga of the disappearing manager. The last 8 hours at work, I've been left with her responsibilities, and it's only Tuesday. Then the asst. mngr  informed me that I'll need to cover her duties for the rest of the day.  I've reached the point that I'm going to take action, my patience is exhausted with this situation. I think it put me over the top when  the asst.  gave me the brush off about the manager's chronic absences AGAIN!  While I was off work with the herniated disc he had  to cover for her 2 or 3 times, and he found it very irritating. I, on the other hand have covered for her chronic Monday absences for years (18 to be exact). I've hit my limit, and I'm going to approach the discussion with several possible solutions; the library can pay me at a higher rate for the time I'm left with supervision of the branch, or they can guarantee a floater to cover for her absences, or the asst. mngr. can work a split shift. All of these options are reasonable, so it will be interesting to hear the response.
