I'm pretty excited, I just bought an apple tree, and J and I are picking it up today. Neuhouser Nursery
had a 60% off coupon of a single plant and I've always wanted an apple
tree. When I looked over the selection I saw only a dwarf granny smith
(mmm,OK?) and yellow delicious (which I don't care for) . One of the
employees showed me a triple tree which was just right and I bought a
grafted cortland, honey crisp, sweet sixteen!

Mmmmm apples. I wonder how long before you get your first apples. Hopefully there are some on it when you pick it up, if not, next year I see pies in your future.
Honey crisp and cortland (+) in one tree, that sounds like the perfect apple. Have you other fruit trees in the area for the bees to do their thing with?
There's a crab-apple two doors down from me, but she has it sprayed every year. I don't have any idea where my bees forage when they leave the yard (which the majority of them do). They love the russian sage and new bush I planted called blue mist and I'm thinking of buying a cherry tree to plant in the front yard, but I'm not sure I have enough room. I definitely don't want to torture it by having it too close to concrete. Neuhouser's told me the tree had apples on it this year, so as long as it survives the winter OK I should have some apples this next year.
