He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Good grief, I don't mean for my blog to turn into whining about my less than stellar boss, but it is just becoming ludicrous. She made it to work Monday and Tuesday which is a real accomplishment for her, but the day after the election she came in smelling of alcohol and went home half an hour later with digestive upset. (Imagine that!) She didn't have to call in sick today because she had already marked herself off for a day of vacation early in the week, so she can have a nice long recovery period. Meanwhile one of the fulltime staff is off because his wife just delivered preemie twins. So down two fulltime staff, the second in charge decides to take the afternoon off so he can have a new window installed in his house. In my personal opinion staff that only has to work one Saturday out of 6 could schedule those appts. for their day off, especially when they're in mangagement and are well aware that we're already working short. This same second in charge completely dropped the ball in preparing for a library program that was happening last evening after he finished for the day. If I hadn't brought it to his attention and prepared the space for him, it would have been very embarrassing for our agency. So, the rest of the day will be a serious step and fetch it. I am eagerly looking forward to the end of my service to the public (only 21 mos. to go).
