Rootless

I am reading the debut novel, Rootless, by Chris Howard. It's marketed to young adults, but I'm enjoying it so much that I think it's going to be one of those ageless crossover titles that everyone will love. I don't usually read YA literature but the summary was immediately intriguing. I guess it's no secret that I'm a tree lover, so the idea of building trees from scraps of metal and plastic 100 years after the last real tree is dead and gone hooked me. Now I'm on chapter 6, and resenting the time required by mundane day to day stuff, like going to work.  Here's a picture of the cover...

and here's the very easy-on-the-eyes author,  introducing his work. Don't you just love the accent?

I am intrigued. I may have to find this for the Kindle. Thanks for the tip.

I've almost finished it now, and it's a real pot boiler. It's just speculation, but I credit his fantastic imagination to all the time he's spent in the outdoors.
