Today we had Mark of Mark's Ark here with a variety of animals. He brought brown racing ducks, one hairless and one albino rat, a rose hair tarantula, two guinea pigs, a ball python, and an alligator. He allowed all the kids to touch the animals while conveying lots of interesting info about them. Then he let all the kids line up and hold the alligator. He did a great job of talking to the kids about why they would never want to own an alligator, and said that he didn't acquire one intentionally, but had one given to him (translation- foisted off on him) . This little beauty will eventually grow to a length of 8 ft. and weigh-in in the neighborhood of 200 lbs.
