These are some photos that J took at the Rosella and Robert Johnson Nature Preserve when we went hiking on holiday break. The bottom photo is one of my favorite perches overlooking Cedar Creek, the exact spot where I so coincidentally encountered the Horngeke and his lady. For being as far on the opposite side of town as it could possibly be, the Cedar Creek area has been the stage for lots of fun and memorable events for my family. Mark's parents used to take their kids there to go sledding down the creek banks , and Mark and I had our wedding reception at the Isaac Walton Chapter House where we spent so much time hiking and target shooting. The boys may not remember, but we used to take them there when they were small to exercise them on the banks, hoping to run the stink off so we could have a little peace and quiet when we got home. J was a sweetheart this day, and humored me by going with me into the great white world when he'd rather have stayed in warm and toasty.
