Good bye to Betty

Whew! that was an experience. I finally got my boys' old vehicle to salvage. Of course first my Dad and boys stripped off all the good stuff, relatively new tires, nice locking wheel covers, etc... since my Dad has the exact same vehicle in better running condition. It was quite exciting and noisy driving it across town since it wouldn't shift out of first gear without a struggle. It only took a half hour of waiting, weighing, and struggling with stuck lug nuts to accomplish the task. Then I got to watch them use the scary claw machine to lift the vehicles and stack them in like sardines. Plus I actually ended up with a little cash without having any seller's guilt selling it in an "as is" condition. Poor old Betty served our family well, rolling along like a tank carrying my boys to school, work, and ball games, soccer matches, and lots of late night movies. Despite the fact that it was leaking oil like a sieve, and the serpentine belt broke (to the tune of $800 buckeroos) she kept my boys safe and rolling along at a sedate pace. Chrish told me he almost cried when he saw the pictures. Good bye to Old Betty, may she rest in peace.
