I squeezed a little fun in between running errands and being at home to welcome my youngest home from school. First I traded leather biker coats with Miss Denise at D & M Leather. She just fixed the zipper in one and I traded her for the winter coat that's sorely in need of new pockets. I don't know how many times I've lost my keys in the murky inner lining and spent panicked moments groping up to my elbow to retrieve them. While I was waiting for D & M to open, I had a lovely cup of spiced chai at the Bean, then headed south for an impromptu visit with Mom and Dad. They're working on the sisyphean task of cleaning out the outbuildings and Dad's workshop. Mom told me she and Carol have been trying to entice the American Pickers, Mike and Frank, into stopping by and turning some of their treasure into cash; but so far the response has been a request for photos (which is far better than no response).
My old stomping grounds are really going through a metamorphosis, with the demolition of the elementary school a shocking reminder of just how old I am. Hard to believe that I've outlived that sturdy old building.

I stopped in at the Edelweiss to snoop around on my way out of town, but it didn't satiate my snoopiness, so I stopped again at the Antique Mall in Decatur to see what I could see. I hope Mom takes special note of this photo, as I shed a tear for the "lost buttons".

Normally my eye is drawn to the color cobalt, but red was the color of the day, Enjoy.
