It's Monday

It's Monday, the boss called in sick, color me surprised! When she called in, she said she would be in at 5, but called back at 3 and said she wasn't coming in at all.

It was an eventful weekend, as soon as I got home from work J said let's go to Las Lomas for margaritas which were fantastic as usual, but may have contributed to the awful dream about my Dad that woke me at 3 AM. At a decent hour I called to ask if they were going to be home for a visit. I thought about riding the bike up, but after looking at the weather forecast, 40's and rain, I nixed that idea.  Dad was supposed to have his first radiation treatment last week, but the appt. was only to fit him with a mask, the actual treatment will begin this week. We're all apprehensive about it, and it was a double whammy for Dad to learn that he has to have the infusions and radiation in tandem, he thought they were concurrent. I told Mom to call  and I would go with them, but she doesn't think it's necessary yet. Dad is still getting around under his own steam. While I was there I tried to talk him into going for a walk, but he'd rather work in the yard or split wood for his exercise. He's told me that he's getting short of breath and energy, but who wouldn't be slowing down after so many infusions of chemo. We had a nice visit, but I missed my usual  leisurely Sunday lunch at Hyde's with J.
