He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today I'm hanging with J and Tim at Hyde Bros. For our lunch I made a lovely quiche and a cucumber and tomato salad from the garden. It gives me such a thrill to prepare meals fresh from the garden. It was pretty tasty if I do say so myself. I can hardly wait until we get another garden bed put in and expand our repertoire. Tim's coming over to our house to help diagnose the new problem with our central air conditioning and furnace. The air conditioning came back on after power was restored, ran for about a week and then gave up the ghost. Thank goodness we haven't had any more 103 temp. days. We've been surviving by eating cool food, taking cool showers right before bed, and wearing little to no clothing. I'm still pretty giddy over the fact that I survived a derecho on the bike. Someone posted a video on facebook that showed similar information, but I haven't been able to locate it. This photo shows winds gusts of 91 mph recorded at the airport which is only a couple of miles away from where I holed up with my bike. It still boggles my mind that I survived.

Julie: Where in Indiana do you live? I have a question about riding my bike from Henderson, KY to Evansville, IN. Email me and I'll explain the weirdness of this request. Thank you!
