home

My boys came home to visit me. Thank goodness, I needed some brightness in my life. They're the same irritating long legged messy boys that I remember.  Chrish hadn't been here a whole day before he misplaced his wallet. I know they won't stay long. I don't have their sort of groceries in the kitchen, have been living on the garden as much as possible. They had their first kale salad last night, and they're not very excited about the almond milk in the fridge. I had asked Chrish over the phone whether he would help me open the hive, and surprisingly he said yes. I haven't opened it since I put the thyme oil in, and it's about time to check their progress. I really wanted to try a super of section comb, but don't have the money for it this summer, maybe next year. I guess it doesn't matter because I won't be taking any honey this year. Since I have two first year hives again, they'll need all their honey to establish themselves. I'm going to ask Christian to help me by getting some straw bales while he's here with his indestructible little truck. Going to work while feeling so sad is hard, but today is the last day before a week of vacation. I can hike, I can garden, I can read, and I can cry in private.
