I was listening to Sarah McLachlan's Afterglow while walking the beach and when she started singing Train Wreck my eyes started to well up. By the time she started in on Push, I was sobbing. That's what I love about the beach. You can be truly solitary. If you need to cry, laugh out loud, or just give yourself a good session of self talk therapy, you can do that and no one can hear you or cut their eyes at you wondering who's the crazy lady talking to herself. It's just you with miles and miles of sand, water, and sun. After I allowed myself a good wail session, I started this feeble tribute to one of my favorite and most ephemeral artists, Andy Goldsworthy. I made it a little game, I wasn't allowed to break any of the driftwood, I had to find just the right fit to pose my question.

Beautiful. I hope it was cathartic. I adore Goldsworthy.
